My fascination with birds comes from my Mom. She taught me about the magical presence of birds; their fleeting colors, unique songs, their marking of the seasons.

This fascination led me to start a dialog in paint with bird lore. The theme is rich. The wealth of birds used in mythology, folklore, religion, poetry, proverbs, and lyrics makes it both easy and challenging to choose what to create in paint. I am exploring the theme in both still life and figure.
